Pro Bono Law Ontario and the County of Carleton Law Association are pleased to invite you to a free CLE session in connection with the launch of an innovative help centre for low-income, self-represented litigants at the 161 Elgin St. Courthouse in Ottawa. The centre, known as Law Help Ontario, will become a critical piece of the effort to ensure access to justice for litigants in the Ottawa area. This event is your first step in joining these efforts.
The CLE will take place at 4:00 p.m. on June 2, 2010 in the Jury Assembly Room on the 3rd floor of the Courthouse. A reception will follow in the atrium.
While there is no cost for the event, participants will be asked to volunteer a modest amount of time as duty counsel at the centre. This unique opportunity will enable you to gain valuable advocacy skills while making an important contribution to your community.
